I have one in the case just like it. Bought it 20+ years ago. Used to power radios or battery charger. Thought about using it if I was camping in the boonies. 4250 RPM....

4250? I find it very hard to believe that old 4 bolt flathead Lauson will even turn 4250! . There's got to be a mistake. Maybe there's an overdrive gearbox between the engine and the generator?

People in Orange County are strange... at least they were when I had to visit it back in the 80s.

I have run the one I have. It is direct drive. The ID tag says 13.3 volts DC 30 amps and it is 42?0 rpm. I can't make out the third digit. It could be a 5, 6 or a 0. I wouldn't run it up that high. It also has what looks like a carbon disc pile regulator inside. It is adjustable.

had one and gave it away 40 years ago
[paid $30 new cond and boxes of spare parts]

12 VDC out with fixed [battery charging]
or regulated via a carbon pile regulator.
Korean conflict era field radio power.

small, cute, fairly useless.

Yes but they sure can cost you money.

I believe there is a PT boat group on the west coast. Looking for a unit like that

It would be useful for charging a battery. The one in the ad appears to say 4200 rpm, and THAT'S what makes it useless lol.
