Is the set CITY water cooled or does it have an external radiator or heat exchanger? Is it in a commercial building?

Standpipe cooling (not best setup IMHO) yes in commercial building. Building was built in 1930 Genset added in '69. But having a Natural Gas standpipe cooling is not ideal since our area is susceptible to seismic events and all the gas valves have seismic shutoffs.

Isn't standpipe cooling a heat exchanger? So with a standpipe, the engine has protective coolant in it? Sure a neat looking set. Real industrial STRENGTH!

Very nice looking machine!

That thing would probably still be running at the second coming with proper maintenance.

I'm not at all a fan of stand pipe cooling, I would go with a plate and frame heat exchanger and use the heat for something. Absorption chiller comes to mind. Or, a radiator, would take a good sized one.

Parts are still available and plentiful, except for the water pump which is rebuild-able.
