Hard to say if Office Depot or the like will reproduce it. Copyright issues. I know this an old document, but I know how strict they are even on regular pictures.

Is the book bound? If not, then I can offer using our copier at work that will scan double sided and create a PDF. If it is bound, then you might have to dismantle it to be able the get good copies.

Leon a scanned version will be fine. Most of the older manuals Max, Kevin,KPack myself and others were scanned and assembled as .pdf files. If the .pdf ends up to large I can reduce it for you. Might consider making a copy in black and white as well it will be a much smaller file. I would be happy to do it for you also Leon if things dont work out. I did make both a color and black and white copy of your J line document you had made for me. It looks real good.

I also have access to a high quality scanner and could make a nice PDF of it. I've scanned a lot of manuals, have some experience.

Send me a PM if I can help,
Grigg

Count me in as well. I'd like to keep a copy at work. We have an old 1969 65KW 12 cyl Propane Onan we still use as backup. Even has some of the tags in place

Me too please if distribution to Canada isn't a problem. PDF is fine with me. I'll happily contribute to your expenses.

Thanks!

I too am available to produce a PDF for this.

I should point out that to produce the best results, the original manual would need to have the spine of the manual removed in order to scan each page as a separate sheet. If you are willing to do this, there are several of us that can produce a high quality copy of a manageable size.

Our son is working from home today so he will not have the so called hi quality pdf available until tomorrow. Staples wants 59 cents per printed page. The document consists of 16 double sided loose pages. I had it three hole punched and stored in one of my Onan loose leaf notebooks for years. Just plum forgot about it until lately. I had Staples try a sample page and the color was exquisite but at 59 cents no way especially with some many requests. I am hoping it can be converted into an adequate PDF reproduction and then easily emailed to anyone. Hope to know more by this time tomorrow.

Our son returned from work with copies of the subject document. Wow! He enhanced the reproduction. It looks better than the original! He printed 8 1/2 x 11 color copies on 28# paper. Because the file is so larger, some 45.5 Mb it could not be emailed. He indicates he could lower the quality and or break up the file into smaller segments.

Personally, I hope you guys accept it in the best quality reproduction. That way it is easy to read for our tired eyes. The pictures and graphs are easy to see. I think it is as they say awesome.

So far 27 Stakers are interested in a copy. He brought home 23 copies! They are double sided color copies on some 16 pages per document.

All I ask is for some remuneration because of his time and postage involved. Tomorrow, I will find out what the first class mailing cost will be. I do not expect 59 cents per 1/2 page like Staples charges but maybe 40 cents. That would be $12.80 plus postage which I will find out tomorrow estimated to be about $ 4.00

Now can anyone suggest how I can get this document on the Stak as a very appropriate source of information for our folks. Right now all I have is a USB Flash Drive with the complete file at 45.5 MB.

Next question is what is the best way for you folks to contact me with a check? Send me a PM with your address vs me giving out my home address, the later I would rather not do. I will mail the document in a 8 1/2 x 11 envelope with a Do Not Bend instruction.

What do you all think? I am serious, I think you guys will like it very much. You do not see all this type of information concentrated in one spot so easy to read and most appropriate for those older Onan generators.

The post office will charge a higher rate if it's considered a book.
I don't know what to call it though to get a lesser rate.

Actually it is the opposite.

Call it "media mail" and it is really cheap.

For payments/donations you could use PayPal. That way all the folks buying a copy would only get your e mail and all money's would be instant and sent to you. The added cost is only a few cents. Just a thought.

gmail accepts attachments up to 25mb. if the file could be split in two - it could be sent as 2 emails.

I have a small website where I could post it for free downloads - let me know if you want to.

But it seems like the twinslan site would make the most sense for this kind of file??? - or is it too big? - just mail a (copy of) the flash drive to the twinslan uploader or get upload instructions to send it from your house...

Will have to doublecheck at the post office - but "media mail" may be limited to "bound" items. I suppose if you stapled it along the spine, you might be able to call it bound, but they may disallow staples.

Really - for 16 sheets you are looking at an oversize envelope - so about $1.36-1.47 for 3-4 oz.

Leon

Can the twinslan folks host the file and then we could all download a copy from there?
