There is one for sale locally with a dead gen end but I have no experience with them. I do have several JB gen ends though. Cheers Dan

Its something totally different. Whole set is 24volt operation and its all EMP proof. Oil pan is different. Intake manifold is different. Exhaust is different. Its still a DJE type engine though at its heart only all the glow plugs are 24 volt. Control board is something different. If you see YD control boards for sale with a NSN, they came off aircraft auxiliary engines which are normal Onan sets with OD green on them. Then again they are made to just hang out at an airfield and not be outside the wire.

Might be able to retrofit it all to 12volt and put a Stamford end on it or something of that nature. You also could just flush your money down a toilet or Paypal it to me. You would get about as much ROI.

Those milspec sets seem best bought in pairs or more. If you want to fix a MEPsomething, its best to just buy another one and have a carcass to cannibalize.

There are a lot of differences between the MEP and the civilian DJ's as others have stated. The one that jumps out at me is the MEP has the ring gear, starter and flywheel on the generator end of the engine. It uses a flex plate to drive the armature instead to the direct taper mount to the crankshaft.
