Dutchman, your 27-44 is a 26 or 27 and I love the way it looks! Twin City tractors that went to Argentina were imported by Juan & Jose Drysdale of Buenes Aires, Bahia Blanca, and Rosario and they put their tags on them.
To upload pictures you need to export or resize them to a smaller percentage, I use a program called Picasa to do this. Enlist the help of a computer friend......good luck, It is wonderful to meet you and I have your tractor in my registry now

The site software automatically resizes images.......at least it's supposed to....... ......I still prefer to resize them myself.
Harry has uploaded images in the megabytes with success.

Not on your wedding night George! I seem to recollect that you told me that you left the reception at 7.30 am the following morning. I think that Gijs may have had more luck on the night in question, but that's only hearsay from Carina's blog!

Stakkers,
I have discovered that my clutch shaft, or input shaft is bad.
This is the shaft that the clutch hangs on and enters the front of tranmission housing with the first small bevelled drive gear on it.
Pieces have flaked right out of the gear teeth......looks like it may not have been hardened correctly
I need any leads I can get on parted out 20-35's, or 27-44's to find this part! It is listed in the parts book as AT-81A.....is there an NOS one laying anywhere?

CAN ANY OF YOU HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM?

Here are some pictures of the problem I have encountered.
First one shows clutch shaft and bearing retainer coming out of transmission housing. Second picture of separate parts shows chunk knocked out of center circle of cast bearing plate #AT-78. Third photo shows a badly chipped input/pinion gear that is made right on the end of shaft ( gear not removeable).
Shaft # is AT-81A.

I have been calling all over US for several days and have actually located two junked out rear ends with missing input assemblies
A bit frustrating yes, however, I have enjoyed visiting with the collector public and I have many more calls to make.
If any of the stakkers have ideas or leads, I would appreciate them!

Fourth photo shows the big, tall, wide and nasty spade lugs that were on this machine. I do not have enough to fill up my 28 inch wide "road king" wheels and would prefer a more conservative lug, perhaps a solid, single bolt spade or pyramid type lug used on many early gas tractors.
I have 68 of these large spades and would like to trade/sell in order to obtain the 128 lugs that I need

Richard, yes I left together with George very early in the morning and he left me all alone with Carina in the cold, so I we only had to keep each other warm I guess..., but lucky I was indeed.

Hi Tony,

I see you have other lugs than mine. It has cast iron lugs. In the manual it says that these were for loose top soil.
And yes a 27-44 is quite rare so you won't find parts on every corner on the street like parts for a JD B or so. But that is the nicest part of restoring a tractor.

Geeze-la-wheeze, that's one ungly looking pinion! Just your luck to find two rear ends with the piece you need missing!

If worse came to worse, I would find a reputable machine/weld shop that deals with heavy equipment repairs. A shop with the capability of cutting gears. I bet it would pricey but it is an option.
