Process of finishing up my remodel on a Cushman Cub with a Wico EK magneto. Unfortunately, the return spring was missing for awhile and I can not for the life of me, find any information on a replacement.
I contacted Bill Lopoulos with a picture of my set up and was informed that "it is unique for that engine".
Having said this, I am trying to identify the proper return spring for this "set up" and get the ol' girl running.
if anyone has any thought on the matter, please jump in here cause i'm running blind

I have a cub in the shop. I’ll be home later and will measure the spring length, spring diameter, wire diameter and number of coils. Also I checked Hit and Miss Enterprises and they offer this spring for $4.40.

Exclamation Re: Cushman Cub Magneto Question

That spring is propietary to Cushman, as is the trip assembly part that fits in the EK armature. (a machined block instead of the common EK roller). H&M indeed has the parts.

It looks like Starbolt also has the parts. I measured the spring using a digital caliper, so the measurements might be off a little.
Spring free length 1.623, 10 coils including the ends
Outside diameter .629, inside diameter .490. Wire diameter is .062. It is a much stiffer spring than is used on the Wico mags on my Stover and Hercules.
Just as a side comment when Hit and Miss sent mine back they put a tag on it. In big bold Red letters it said. “Warning, then he wrote in Mag drive for your model Cushman is very fussy and difficult to set correctly” I can confirm that. Took me a while to get it to trip and then close just right. Once I got it correct it has been trouble free for several years. I would recommend you either order them from Starbolt or Hit and Miss. If you’re in a hurry Starbolt usually ships the next day, Hit and Miss will take a little longer.
Enjoy your Cushman

1st and formost, thank’s everyone for taking the time to respond! As suggested I called and ordered the return spring. Really nice people so I didn’t mind the wait. I removed the magneto and its covers. I found some rust around the wire attachment nut for the points. Figured out how to remove the holder to clean things up. Have several decals ordered and am in a holding pattern for a little while longer. Again thanks and ya’al have a happy Easter 🐣
