Default Interesting Honda EU7000 central A/C Video

I don't like his hookup in jis main panel. The video shows him running a small central A/C off of a single EU7000 generator. I think some may find this interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuEXowFMZsw

That is interesting. It's too bad those inverter generators don't have some capacitors on the DC buss to allow the set to deliver full output from idle speed during the brief time required for the engine to accelerate. It sure is nice and quiet, and no doubt efficient, running nice and slow like that.

It would likely work much better, and maybe even allow him to run his larger A/C, if he added suitable start capacitors and relays to the units.

His emergency connection is not ideal, but is better than mine. People get way more worked up about this than they should. A cautionary reminder is sufficient. You wouldn't throw your car into park on the freeway, right? Same thing, really. Just need to have the panel locked up when not attended by qualified personnel.

Had a customer with one of those generators secured to his pickup truck bed through a stake pocket using a coiled bicycle theft prevention cable, and "Abus" padlock. Someone decided they needed the generator more than he did and took either a sawzall, or a hacksaw and split the stake pocket, them pried an opening large enough to withdraw the cable through and took the entire generator and cable. Insurance paid for it but he uses it to power their concession trailer where it powers a 2.5 ton a/c unit and all the lights. Quiet little thing when running full bore too.

On the RV side of life many of us have installed one of these so our Honda eu2000i will easily start even a 15k BTU AC without straining.

I liked mine so well I even installed one on my house AC.

https://www.microair.net/products/ea...nt=30176048267

It works by starting the fan alone that causes the Honda eu2000i to come off idle with "Echo" on and 5 seconds later the compressor slowly ramps up to speed. In the 5 seconds an internal cap is slowly charged and then the compressor starts.
This device reduces starting current (surge) from 50 to 70% All with ECHO ON!!

There are two versions, one in the box shown ready to connect 4 wires and a PCB only for about half the price.
