Your engine photo reminded me of a 52 Chevy I had with a 216 engine. The copper fuel line ran right across the front of the horn. Somewhere in the southwest on a cross country trip. the horn bell wore through the fuel line and it started spraying a fine mist of atomized gasoline into the horn bell. Out on route 66 there weren't many girls to beep at. Good thing...

Got the ND grain truck home!
Been watching the weather for clean roads and was able to make a 16+ hour run to retrieve my new toy. Needed a good night sleep after that.

It Starts runs and drives good. Crappy body work and cheap paint job done over 50 years ago. grubby, greasy and dirty...its just right, I love it

Time for oil change, grease job, tune up and lots of general cleaning. I have an extra grill that came with the truck and will probably post that for sale to see if anyone needs it.

I would keep the extra grill for as long as I owned the truck--- Just in case.
Extra grill is insurance, like having a well prepped standby generator- if you have it, power stays on, or in your case, no one backs into truck.

Progress report,
I have been through the truck from stem-to-stern and things are going well.
Changed oil, greased chassis, checked all fluids and took apart a sticky front brake. Honing, cleaning, reassembly and adjustment has the brake system working wonderfully. Engine must have been rebuilt years ago as it has Chevy orange on the block, runs perfectly smooth, quiet and there is no smoke.
Drove the truck up and down the blacktop today and I am very happy with my new toy!
Need to address some wiring issues to the lights and get some general cleaning done as time allows.
