The Wood hoist is now ready to mount on the MACK.

Does anyone know what viscosity of oil should be in such a unit? The lines are 3/4" & it has a gear pump.

What diameter of cable would be used?

Thank you,
Jack

Light hydraulic oil or 10 weight non-detergent.

A fine restoration job Jack. I read your entire post this morning and enjoyed it. Brings back memories of my Dad. When I was 6 yrs old he worked for a construction company that had an old chain drive Mack. The body was steel, but the cab looked similar to yours. It did not have solid rubber tires either. My Mom would set me out at the curb and when my Dad came by the house with a load of gravel, he would stop and take me for a ride in it. At 6 yrs old, I was in heaven. That chain drive truck had a distinct sound. When you heard it in the distance, you always knew that Mack was coming soon.

The MACK AC project is slowed due to weather but I did take it for a drive before the weather closed in. Everything, even the power brakes, worked as it should.

I have found one fender that is coming together slowly but I am in desperate need of a RIGHT fender to match. I can work with an AC or AB fender of the later design in almost any condition. The one I need will look like the green one pictured.
