Default Vintage Indoor Outdoor Therm-O-Meter

I got my vintage Simpson Indoor Outdoor Therm-O-Meter hooked up for Christmas.

I think it is from the early 60s

I worked for Simpson and that same model was made well into the 1980's. If you look in the battery compartment area you might see the quality control inspector's stamp. If the stamp in in the shape of the state of Wisconsin, your meter was built in Eagle River, WI and the 4 small numbers represent the week and year of manufacture.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they were made that long. That helps enplane why mine takes a C battery. Apparently the older ones used a D battery.

Frank, I hope that lower scale isn't in degrees Fahrenheit! If so, you need to move to a more agreeable climate.......

lower scale is indeed Fahrenheit. most likely it has a different setting like a volt meter to measure higher temps. note how 212 deg stands out, boiling temp of water at sea level. one cool unit you have there!

Here is a example. It is rare to find one that comes with the probes and has been tested.
