Default Aultman Taylor 30-60 Sn2467

As you all may know this tractor sold a few weekends back in Jerseyville Illinois and came to itís new home in Missouri. Over the weekend we had the chance to give it a good much needed bath to wash off the very thick layer of old grease and oil.

As some of you may know this tractor has had its lubricators changed out at some point in its like from the original Detroitís to Manzels. Although to us it didnít appear to be just a farmers quick fix. Someone took a lot of time to do it right. Making new brackets, adding check valves on the gear Oiler lines, not disturbing the original engine oil lines, and we wonder at this point if this is when they added 5 big cast iron grease cups behind the engine that grease the counter shaft and differential.

After washing we found a brass tag on the RH cylinder jug. It states

Block Reground
By
Hollarbush Machine Co
Huron, S. Dak
Order parts by #362

So we found this very interesting. After a few google searches all we could really find is old newspaper adds Advertising Hollarbush Machine Co. So we were curious if anyone else had any insight or had ever found a similar tag like this. We also wonder if this company changed the lubricators and added the grease cups at the same time.

Enjoy the pics

Not to derail the thread about your tractor but your tractor must have been watched by ours as it went up the assembly line. Ours is 2479. You have a real nice one.

Ours has 1917 stamped on the rear axle, it is underneath in the middle not on the end. Our tractor originally came from Beulah ND but is now in SD. I have never heard of Hollarbush Machinery but we are in western SD but I will check with relatives in the Huron area. There are some Youtube videos under chargerkid5 that you may enjoy.

A lot has gone on since my last post.

Water pump was rebuilt
Radiator got some tubes sealed
All new platform boards
Rebuilt mag
Correct engine lubricator installed
Top crank case half removed
All bearings checked and adjusted
All new oil lines made
Governor gone thru
Carburetor rebuilt
All new fuel lines
Fuel tanks cleaned
Lots of things Iím sure Iím forgetting.

After attending the great Dorset Steam fair the weekend before Labor Day we took Labor Day weekend to get the tractor running again since tear down.

Lots of fine tuning after that.

In October we sawed with it and threshed as well at home with it.

Link to video below of first starting and driving and then some live action.

Thanks
Chris

Chris:
Back in the day some independent machine shops tagged their work as has been done to your tractor. It was a form of advertising and a way to help equipment owners that might be return customers.
