I don't believe that it is a U.K. picture; it is just not the way we moved timber over here.

These are representative 1930's style timber haulage in U.K. Short wheel base road tractor with winch and pole carriage.

Are these a "latil" maybe I spelled it wrong.

Probably a one off built by logging company for thier own use. Looks like its doing the job it was intended for.

Yes Wayne, Latil timber tractors in the second picture. I'm not sure if these were French built as some were built here under licence. These early tractors were only about 28 b.h.p.
The first picture is a Foden STG5. This tractor is still with us.
However Cletracker, that is an interesting suggestion but the link doesn't work for me, could you post the image directly please?
