Yes, you are. Denial is common in the beginning.

Admitting you have a problem is the "first step" to recovery. I know, I have walked in your shoes.

It is a rough road, but now that I have been "cured", I can see that I was worth the trek. Good luck on your journey

Nice collection

I'm ahead so far... the first 2 sales (5BGAL, and 7.5JB) paid for all of these, the fuel to go get them, and food/lodging along the way. Plus I've made some of my impoverished neighbors lives a little brighter (literally) along the way. I can't complain about the Onans in my garage.

That was "before". That mess is all cleaned up, and Neva can park her truck in that spot. I only have 2 Onans running at this moment, one in the driveway and one in the shop.

Pulled a dump a$$ stunt with the DJB. I had been test running it with no air filter and decided to put one on it. Grabbed a base, cover and new air cleaner from the parts stash. Problem was I got a "full size" base that should have a cover that a hose from the air heat option goes onto which is not what I installed. I also took the tank to town and filled it. Hooked the fuel hoses back up and fired it up. Ran Like $hit. I figured I had air in the lines and spent several hours trying to "fix" that, I had forgotten I put the air cleaner on since it had run last. Found a proper air cleaner base and all is well.

I have preached before, only "fix" one thing at a time, even refueling. It really narrows down the possibilities when things go wrong.

You NEVER get "ahead". Kind of like gambling, you will always be in the hole in the end.

Installed Pertronix Ignitor in my 1970 45EM gasoline powered Onan. Part #1261. That part number is for a distributor with a hollow shaft. Solid shaft takes #1266. Took all of 20 minutes to remove old points/condenser and install Ignitor. It was 27 degrees and the generator started immediately. It runs better now than it ever has. $75 well spent.

The rat gen self-destructed today. I was attempting a monthly run and the engine let go. Not going into details, but I think I am done with generators.

Ouch. IIRC, that is (was?) a DKD.
