I've always wondered what was the thinking behind those rear wheel spokes, a very unique design!

Thanks Paul for saving this tractor. Good luck on finding and making the parts you may need.
To carry on with the original question of how many are left...I started keeping track of Model M's in 1995. Another guy and I were working together and comparing notes. When we reached about 10 he said that must be all that survived. Well I'm more of an optimist, I said if there are 10 there has to be 10 more. I've tried keeping the attitude that whatever I'm at for a total there is still another. AND Paul just proved that to be true. With the help of a lot of people I know of well over 100 Model M's. If anyone has any original pictures of actual Model M's that you would want to share, please go to samsonmodelm.com and let me know. Trucks, I never kept record but with what I've run across info on, and this thread, I think you could easily come up with over 2 dozen. Remember I'm not a truck collector so there might easily be double that????? |

I got the 1919 Samson M running over Memorial Day weekend. The magneto on the 1920 wasn't working, so it will have to wait for another day:

For those of you with Model M's, what carburetor do you have? Both of the tractors I have been working on have Kingston Model L's. I was curious if these were original or a modification (especially since both tractors have pickering flyball governors installed).

We make the fenders for the M. We have new fenders listed in the classifieds from month to month. Makes a nice finishing touch to a rare and hard to find tractor. Better to have them saved than scraped.
