The main bearings in my casting made Holt Engine are massive & will never cause a problem. The only internal mod I mat do is a cog-type timing belt that will replace noisy gears. Capt,n

Thumbs up Re: Holt engine casting set

I understand more mow after working on my Holt casting kit. I would advise anyone that is going to build the Holt, do the crankcase like George did. I would think Coles would have that option for a crankcase that split where it should...crank centerline. I want to say I am sorry to George, because he did that crankcase right. Doing the case with a split line would make this a much more easy engine to build. George did a surgery room job on his Holt. Maybe if he painted it & banged it up & chipped the paint it would look more like the other average Holts on YouTube ! Capt,n

I built 2 of these, have an extra crank case, set of gears, and a set of plans I could let go. If interested, PM me.

I have a set of the Coles, Holt 75 casting set. I do not have the plans or the crank case.
There are plans out on the net for a two piece crank made fron solid stock. This is supposedly easier to build than Coles one piece casting. I can email pictures.

Question Re: Holt Engine Casting Set

Gentlemen. Is there any other threads on the Holt model engine that you know about. I have not been on this Scale Model Engineering forum for over 2 years. I had a operation on my left hand that did not come out to good at all.

Thanks, John

I have changed my mind on using a cog-type timing belt.
