A friend of mine had one, I used it quite a few times and the brakes did not work on it either. If I remember right there was a selector to make the front and back wheels steer opposite of each other or independently.

I have had no luck finding an engine number, the ônly number I can see is vertically on the bellhousing and this model only has rear wheel steering

I wonder if I can narrow the search using the diesel injection pump? Its a little akward to get a clear snap of the ID number but here goes nothing!

The engine number on this 108 Perkins is in the picture where the injection pump mounts.

Here is a picture of a Perkins 236 engine and the engine # is in the second picture. Part of the # is behind the bracket. I think you have a Perkins 248 engine.

Thanks again for all the help trying to ID this loader, the engine does seem very similar to to the one you posted, I have started searching based on that to gather as much info as possible before I get into it and try to get it running again. More pics just cause I got them.

The Michigan Loader is apparently a 35R Tractor Shovel.
I did get it up and running, all bee it leaking everywhere, got two weeks of clearing light scrub regrowth, then the Fiber gear that drives the torque converter gave up.
So it is in bits again,but the boss now sees the value that could be gained by spending some time and money on it.

Well the fix seems to be on, the boss has given the go ahead to but what is needed to putherback to work.

Well it took a while but with a new torque converter fiber gear and bushing from the USA, we are making progress, 3 new hydraulic hoses being made this week.
