Default convert scanned text to real text

Here is a tip I've been using that works well for me when I need to extract the text from a scanned document to paste into an editable document.
1. copy the picture or use Windows 7's snipping tool to capture a portion of a PDF file
2. paste this into OneNote which is part of the advanced Microsoft Office suites
3. in OneNote choose "copy text from picture"
4. paste this into Word or any text editor. I usually have very good results.
