Default JD 46 A where can I find main bearings?

Is the John Deere dealer the only place I can find some main bearings? How much are they? Is there someone out there making their own at a more reasonable price? Happy Holidays! Thanks.

What's your s/n? I looked them up on JD parts one set was 140. the other was 180. Did an internet search after market was a little cheaper. Is the crank's in good shape and there's still adjustment left (shims) I'd leave it be. You'll never wear it out unless you want to plow or pull with it.

The s/n tag is gone, I know it is a 46. Where are you finding the after markets? The original crank was ran dry because the oil filter clogged and one of the oil lines broke. The bearings wore down to the brass. I found a good replacement crank.

You can have your old shells repoured as well. You should check the price on that as well.

My connecting rods are the Babbitt type and need to be repoured......anyone know anybody that can do it? Typically what does repouring cost?

How about that? >>> http://www.oldjdforyou.com/mm5/merch...tegory_Code=73

If you know your tractor to be a 1946 model the starting serial number for that year is 183673.
BTW.......I guarantee you won't get it poured for that price.

I think I found the mother lode at some pretty nice prices too >>> http://compare.ebay.com/like/2209287...Types&var=sbar
