Default Honda EU6500IS Gen

Hey Folks,
I'm looking for any special technique for removing the Spark Arrestor on my Gen.

According to the manual, you only have to remove these two Philips head screws and she pulls out.
They don't budge, and I'm buggering them.
I even went for the vise grips.
The Gen is ten years old with about 400hrs. The Manual says every 100 hours, but, you know how that goes, it really depends on use and conditions.
She's only used for power outages, and, it has only been run in my detached garage.

I cleaned the air filter, carburetor bowl.
Do these Spark Arrestors ever plug up?
I've removed baffles from my Motorcycles and have never met up with a carboned up hole, even after ridding for thousands of miles.

The bottom of the carb bowl was just about spotless, the air filter looked brand new.

I'm going to pick up one of these tools today at Tractor Supply.


Will this tool do the trick, or is there something I'm missing with removing this spark arrestor?

I don't want to pull my hair out, Beat the S out of the Machine for something that 99% of the time is a waste of time.

They're rusted in so they need heat. But a torch will toast all that paint surrounding it. Pull that big cover and get the screw heads red then they'll come out.
