Default Miller AEAD 200LE vacuum pump hose routing needed

I just picked up a Miller AEAD 200LE for short money. The fuel tank was improperly connected to the carb and the fuel pump sat disconnected on the flywheel housing.Could someone please explain to me how it is supposed to be connected?I dont see any where to connect it to vacuum. The carb doesnt have an inlet at the base where you could connect a vacuum hose.I dont know where it was originally connected.I got the machine running in short order but need the fuel pump squared away so i can put the fuel tank back in its proper location. Thanks

Vacuum line is on the "back" of the pump and goes through a hole in the shroud to a port on the block or timing cover.

**This is assuming your model is like mine and has the Onan engine**

The fuel pump isn't a vacuum style pump, its a pulse pump. You need to have a hose connected from the crank cover to the back of the fuel pump. This creates a pulsation from the crank case pressure. It is possible that the fuel pump became weak which is why it was disconnected. This happens over time. Also, what can happen is the check valve gets worn so you can loose the prime to the engine. In that case, you can run to NAPA and get a small electric fuel pump which works just as well. If you go that route, we can discuss that more later.

Thanks for the replys.I didn't remove the pump.Thats why I didn't know there was a port on the back.I will run the machine and see if the pump is actually pulling a vacuum on one of the two ports. One cas a cap on it.Thanks.If I cant bring it back to life I will buy a generic briggs vacuum fuel pump. Thanks

I stand corrected.I will reconnect the pulse pump fuel lines to see if it will pump before I carefully open it up to take a peek.Thank you for your information.
