Default Jensen model 50

I would like to buy a Jensen model 50 steam engine. Any condition is fine. The older the better. Thanks

Good luck in your search, Randy! I hope you find a nice one. I searched for years and finally got lucky almost two years ago when I had the opportunity to purchase a 1979 model serial #400. I sold my Harley to get it, but I don’t really miss that thing much. I can find another bike, but Jensen 50s don’t come up for sale very often at all. You can always order a new one from Jensen. $$$

I know I can get a new one but really would like to find a older one. I have picked up a few early engines lately and really like the looks of them and the way they where built. Just thought I would put it out there and see what might pop up. Never know if you don't ask. I seen your YouTube video of your engine. Nice engine.

I found mine by simply stating in a forum post that I would love to find one some day and another member responded saying he had one he was thinking about selling. The same could happen here.

What other Jensens do you have?

I have several Jensen engines. Have a very early 10 with riveted boiler and has the DC generator. 4 different 20s one is the early 20 big power plant with brass tag. The other 3 are later versions 20g. Have 2 40s 50s model25s. One is brass tag with no revers and one later with reversing lever. Then I have the later stuff 55, 65, 70, 70D, 70g, 75, 25g, (2) 85g (part of the Israeli 15). Plus other stuff. Doll, Faulk, Weeden, Empire. Been collecting them for a while now but just really got to liking the Jensen stuff. My problem is I like all this stuff. Have some where around 120-150 hit miss engines. Around 30 or so model hit miss engines. Some I've built some I bought. Have a 2" scale Case traction engine I built from Cole's casting kit. I think I need to join some kind of AA classes or something.

Sounds like you have some very nice stuff! I have 75+ Jensens with some other makes mixed in, but I like to concentrate on the Jensens mainly. I also got two of the Israeli 85Gs. I have a domestic 85G also. Those engines are hard to come by in any form. You will really enjoy the 50 when you finally get your hands on one. No other “toy” engine can even come close to the quality.

Hi Randy, are you the one that just bought this earlier 50 from Minnesota with Jack Boyles? Looked like a very nice engine and hope to see videos of it soon...

Hey Nick, It was sold to another friend of mine but I have 1st option on it if they decide to sell it. Those Riveted boiler Jensen 50's are very rare. I know where a couple of them are but they are not for sale. I'm talking about a video now with the owner. Not sure if they want their name out there.

I'm also trying to find a Jensen 50 for Randy as well. He has a great collection and is a very talented machinist. Awesome guy who I know would take excellent care of an engine in his care. Especially a Jensen 50. If anyone is reading this with one for sale. Consider selling call me Jack Boyles 336-516-5070 or reply to Randy Tucker.

Have a great day.

Well, three have sold in just the last 2 or 3 months, so they are out there! It took me many years to get mine...

Hi Gil. Let me know. I really enjoy getting a project engine and would love to get a 50 from the 30s. Please keep me in mind. Have you looked at the 10 that I'm restoring?

I wish Jack would keep his engines off ebay if he's just going to cancel bids and end his auctions early...

Hi Nick,

That one from Mrphy Auctions will stay here. That is the one from Lowell Wagner's collection.
It is one of only 3 known to exist with a 6" diameter boiler.
These 3 are believed to be Tom Jensen Sr's first 3 #50's.
It stays here, Thank you.

Gil

This one.....

I was just making sure, I couldn't believe that you would be selling that one!

And I think I have just as much fun looking into the backgrounds of your pictures, for example your homemade 4-screw 55 below the 50

Got the 50 from Jake. Spent almost a day on it taking it apart, cleaning and polishing and putting it back together. This is what I ended up with.
