Dee and I are working to attending this great Rally again this year. Just need to book a site at the caravan park in Vineyard.

We have our van site booked and paid for so look out we are off for another great rally. Unfortunately we can only be there for the Saturday but that is better than not at all. We are both looking forward to going again.

Damn,I still haven't been able to get to your Great Clarendon Rally I guess being so far away (1100)KM just tells me the story. To make matters worse I am asked by family members not to try and go so far on my own these days. Makes it hard for me to get around these days. BUT rest ashourd (?) I WILL make it to the Great Junction Rally at WentwortH 2648 next Year.

Hi john then the answer is to get the Family to take you. you can then sit back and rest on the journey and be refreshed when you arrive.
It is a long way but sometimes these things are worth it. Maybe do a round trip and make the extra 5 hours North to Macksville then have holiday in between the Clarendon on your way back.

By around this time next week this great event will be run and won. We can't wait to spend the day there on Saturday only unfortunately. Hope we can catch with with some of the other Forum members.

Who is going to be there next Saturday?

I'll be there. Watching the forecast a bit anxiously. It would be lovely to get the promised rain tomorrow, then a clear run through the weekend. Fingers crossed!

I am a McDonald tragic, so look out for one up near Steve's big Blackstone, as well a Rogers diesel engine/pump combination. Also a Grey Fergie (ride trailer duties) and the ex-Abood's Thornycroft truck.

I am planning on taking my big vertical Stover (it is easy to spot), although I may swap it out for something else if the rain comes.
See you there.

Well - it's done and dusted for another year. What a show! Seems every visitor was blown away with the sheer scale and diversity.
Mind you, with 80mm of rain, yes real rain, mid-week, on Thursday it was awash and the showground people banned us from going onto the grass. However, it had dried out a great deal by Friday and it was on for all.
I won't try and pick the best of the show, as I'm sure Patrick and others will. However, I have a soft spot for Gardners, and there were four of them, all lovely engines.

There were some of our Christchurch club members who crossed the ditch to attend. Did any of you run into them?

Merv.

Sorry Merv, unless they were wearing kiwi feathers we possibly would not have known them.

As for those
Gardners there was more there than I have seen in one place ever and your right they were nice lookers and runners.

I did manage to meet Kerry and he is a great bloke and easy to talk to with that beautiful vertical Tangye which was running like a clock while I was there.

Way too many nice toys to have to pick any as the best, I would have failed the test to choose just one.

An unfortunate thing happened to a Bulldog tractor while on the sled near the end of the day and it appeared to have had a major fail in the head department. Knowing the owner I'm sure he will have it sorted quickly and be back in action.
