Default Petter Diesel Winpower generator

Nothing special, just some photos of my hurricane generator. I have not needed it yet but you never know!

1963? Petter PAZ1 diesel engine spinning a WinPower 1500 watt generator. I added the tank on top for longer running time. It will start from the generator with a 12 volt battery but I usually just use a homemade ratcheting crank on the shaft. It typically will start on the first crank.

It weighs a bit over 300 pounds for only 1500 watts so I added a removable hitch to help move it up to my driveway. It will roll easily once on a driveway but getting it there is a bit of a struggle. The small generator in the front is a Master Mechanics 1200 watt generator, similar age, for size comparison.

The best kind of generator one can have.

Does it run almost all day on a tank of fuel? Diesels being far more efficient to operate.

It uses around 0.2 gallons per hour so a tank should last around a day.
