Default Help With Wiring Kubota Z482

As some of you may know, I purchased an alternator for my z482 engine.

I am going to start to put it together. I have been reading the manual.

I just need some advice about a few things.

Attached is the wiring diagram.

Do I need to install a fuse box? or can I wire directly without a fuse box?

Do I need a slow blow fuse? or will it work without it?

Also, the light indicators are wired in a weird way. Is it the positive cable that loops around? or is it the negative cable?

the light indicators that I've purchased have two wires on them. the wiring diagram only shows one wire.

and last but not least, what wire gauge should I use?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Looking at the diagram they give the bulb wattage, 3.x so they are just regular bulbs.
They show 1 amp fuses and a fast blow is fine. The fuses are in the 12v PLUS lead and you should have fuses.
The NEGATIVE leads are grounded by the carious sensors and relays lighting the bulbs.

Diagram is pretty clear on wiring.

You should be able to get a fuse block locally.
Here's one with a cover.

Wire size in this case is not about current carrying but more for mechanical strength, I would use 14 gauge wire, no smaller.

Thanks for the help.

I have installed the alternator.

Does anyone know what the connector on the solenoid is called.

Attached is the pic of the solenoid. I am looking for the terminal connector. I can not seem to find this connector online. If anyone is able to help me, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

I don't think I have seen that connector before but take a few detailed photos and email it to Digikey, they have been helpful.

Thanks for the help

Now to the next question.

I was wondering if I used something similar to the attached picture for the outlets instead of making.

It's called an RV panel. I think it should work with the generator. I could be wrong.

Can someone with experience confirm if this will work if wired correctly?

Attached is the picture of the panel. Not sure why it did not show in previous post.

Any help is appreciated.

I used one similar on a 10kw set a few years ago. It worked OK for me.

I have done most of the work on this unit.
I got it to start and it works just wonderful.

However, as I am new to this. I have not electrical background. I am stuck in wiring the light indicators.

I am using the manuals wiring diagram but I still do not understand the way the lights are wired.

Attached in PDF is the wiring diagram and in jpg is the indicator light.

Can someone please simplify this for me. Why is the lines in the diagram looping around?

Can someone help me please thank you.

The connector on the solenoid is a "Packard" type used to be real common in automotive stuff 30 years ago. Try an auto parts store.
The red wire on the light goes to "ign feed" something that gets power when the key is on, the other wire goes to the alt warning lite terminal. (might be labeled D+) it will be a small (low amp) connection on the alternator.
