I went, i stopped and looked twice before the sale and still did not see thongs till they were in the air. At the start the junk like wheels ladles and the like sold so high I wondered who would pay that, women of course .
The engines sold well, all 5 that is. The Hart Parr's were alittle cheap at 3,100 and 3,600. Its on Proxybid .

I did not not really get too much. It was really pretty much a junk sale with a few good machines. They kept the good stuff, and had already sold at auction the Case Eagles and other junk . Then maybe Marland sold alot before he passer as there were things he had no where in the sale.
Alot of what I bought looked like it had came from a junk yard, or a ditch. The raised letters Aermotor flywheel and Waterloo tank are pitted. It seamed like everything was damaged cracked or pitted.

There are a few things I needed and some extra i can sell to try and defray the costs. The side shaft RV base and the hog oiler were the 2 highest priced items I won.

The long base is 2 foot by 11 3/8, and the square base is 12 1/2x14 and a foot tall. It's cracked. I bought it from the junk man after the sale. He had a car trailer loaded as heavy as could be with motors, JD tractor heads, old early blocks of who knows what early tractors. He said he got back a large percentage of what he paid for all of it. I think the owner was hoping people would bid up on parts that just went for junk, and not to their yard. Most of the tractors sold for alot less than scale price. A B JD with skeleton wheels missing the lugs went for 125. Carb and mag there. There may have been 50 tractors, most at or about $125 each. All rusty and stuck.

I forgot all about this water powered water pump. Back 100 years ago the larger cities all had high pressure water, but it was non potable. So every one had a cistern or well. They then needed a pump to raise the water to a tank in the building or house.
So they made water motors and water pumps along the line of a steam pump for such pumping, which is what this is.

This was the one everybody was waiting on. They also had the engines, better tractors and hog oilers on Proxy bid.
The Great Western was a predecessor of the Rock Island. It was manufactured by Jacob Haisch for Smith. Early ones had piston trip igniter. But 2 cycle. The run well though.

Some where there is money. The hog oilers covered a Simi trailer. Some were high. Even the junk sold well. We all also learned a valuable lesson about the auctioneer. A man said he was out when the auctioneer asked him for another bid, but then the man tried to bid again and the auctioneer refused his bid. The guy yelled and interuoted the sale. The auctioneer told the guy that he said he was out, so then he would NOT take his bid again. I had bid right to one of the ringmen and he just stood there. He did not take my bid. If I were the one selling things I would have wanted to shoot both right between the eyes, with jelly beans of course. Makes a man wonder.

I did not get an engine. I was sure Inhad the bid on one but found out I did not. I quit posting prices, it does not matter as they can jump all over the place with no rime nor reason.
