Question about shut-down. A decal on the generator warns not to shut the generator down by shutting off the ignition or choking it. I says to shut off the gas and let it run out. Why is that? Thanks

Great foresight. Gas, especially modern gas, leaves deposits in the carb which plug up small passages and interfere with operation. This procedure helps to mitigate the problem.

So, in your opinion, it has nothing to do with electrically safely shutting down the unit with respect to being a generator engine, but rather with just running the gas out of the carb. Makes sense to me. I was told this Goodall unit is a Pincor, model #'s similar.
