Default Kohler 12RY62 parts manual for flywheel speed sensor

I acquired the above generator from a landscaper who was told by a customer to get rid of it because was a eyesore. I'd did have the ugly fiberglass enclosure. He brought it home and left it in a barn where mice chewed wires of the sensor on the flywheel. I attempted to repair it but was neglectful in installing it and did not install the correct spacers. The end result is I need to buy a new flywheel speed sensor. It did start for me but ran about 8 seconds and shut down with the fault lite glowing. So if anyone can help with a parts breakdown , part number or sell me a sensor i would be in your debt.
Spec 110535-62N. Serial 344058. Natural gas.

Thanks. Steve

We have a Kohler 12RY and have the manuals for it. It looks like the part # is 226529 magnetic sensor. Hope this helps.

OK, got the new sensor, is there a a procedure to set the depth correctly, my original had 3 flat washers, I think 1 was for a spacer but it could have been 2, I used one last time and the end of the sensor was damaged. don't want to do this again, I installed with 3 as a spacer, it started and ran for a few seconds then shut down on a fault with light glowing. I should add its a decision maker 1. I dont know how to identify which fault caused shutdown, The engine was cold--70F, good oil and coolant.

My manual only states that the air gap between the flywheel and pick up is 0.040 +/-0.005. My manual also only has information for a Decision Maker 3 - 5 light microprocessor controller.

0.040” is about the thickness of one washer. That would be a good gap for the sensor too.

If this is a threaded magnetic pickup, you usually thread those in all the way then back them out 1/2 to 1 turn. The exact spacing isn’t super critical, it just needs to have some clearance to avoid contact and not be far enough away that it puts out a weak signal.

Update, Once I discovered the side cover on the bell housing is was easy to check clearance for the sensor. I then discovered it was set up for propane, changed it for natural gas and it runs. But with a bad vibration/ noise for about 30 seconds until the cooling fan came off. Yikes. after investigation I discovered the flange that pressed on the water pump came off along with the pulley, spacer and fan. Lucky there was no damage. I decided to press the flange back on as the pump seemed fine, I did add some locktite sleeve retainer. so its back together and I ran it with a load for 30 minutes and all was good. still a small vibration, I might remove the fan and see if it soothes out, I could go to a electric fan if needed.
