Default Old Farm Equipment/Help With Identifying Planter

I am looking for the manufacturer of this planter. I believe it to be a potato planter? The original paint scheme is long gone so if anyone knows what it would've been that would also be helpful. Also the hopper is long gone and I am looking for what would have been original to this piece so I can reproduce one to finish the restoration.

I think that is a single row lister for planting corn. The plow beam makes me think that. A double mouldboard plow opener would have attached in front of the rectangular chute.

I don't think the chute would work for potatoes, no larger than it is.

Below is a picture of what it might have originally looked like, if the image copying worked.
