Made in June 1964, from the serial number.

Are you sure the model number is correct? There should be a number following the JC, giving the voltage code. For example, 15JC-3R/3992K or 15JC3R/3992K would be 120/240 volt. Could you contact the seller and ask for the correct model number? You would not want to wind up with something unusable because you weren't given the correct model number.

I asked in the other thread if your ice cream machines are single or 3 phase? Many ice cream trucks had 3 phase machines for some reason.

The model number 15JC is a 15 kw gasoline JC 4 cylinder air cooled engine
next should be a 3C or 18 code or something similar followed by the "R" for remote start capable

If the serial number given is correct it is a early production version build spec K which would make it a magniciter gen end. The JB/JC's were made from early 60's to 1991 or so.
The JC's are a good reliable machine and most parts are still available from various sources. Some magniciter components are getting scarce.

Ask for complete data plate info and if possible a clear photo of the data plate. Then we can tell you what it is for certainty.
There are several 3 phase JC's in the new york area on fleabay at a high price. And I've found several others in New England on C/L /some diesel . some gas.

You might consider giving us a few more details on your vending truck. Such as:

The make, model, voltage, current, and wattage of every load.

Does the truck have a dedicated generator area? How large?

How do you intend to use the truck? Pull it to events for a day? Park it at a location and use it every day? Every weekend, or just once in a while?

This generator is quite large, rather heavy at 825 Lbs, and quite thirsty at full load: 3 Gallons Per Hour propane or 3.5 Gallons per Hour gasoline. Now is the time to think about how you are going to house this generator, how many hours you are going to use it, and how you are going to keep it supplied with fuel.

Sorry, make that about 2.5 Gallons per Hour of gasoline, and 3 gallons per Hour of Propane, if it's set up for propane.

looks like a Mr Softee built franchise truck. They were all built with the 10 CW's as power plants
The weight of the JC will be very close to the CW.
Send me a PM with your e-mail address and i'll send you the JC with the magniciter gen end manual

Ed

I hope it works out. Looking at the “Model Identification” chart for units prior to 1969 lists a voltage code 3 as 120 – 240 single phase 3 wire.

Don't worry about the ancient oil recommendation. Get some 0W-30 - I use Mobil One.
While you're going over it, consider replacing the points with the Pertronix ignition module. This is the #1 part to make it run reliably.

Good luck!

Does the JC have vacu-flow cooling? If not it may be a little more difficult To keep the generator cool in this compartment
