Default Any Baker 23-90’s located near northern Indiana?

I am starting work a model 23-90 Baker. I have two sets of drawings, 1/2 scale and 5/8 scale. The ˝ scale drawings are very complete, thanks Bakermaker, and the 5/8’s are good and usable but they are missing a dimension here and there.

I am looking for someone with a 23-90 Baker near South Bend IN that I can double check some of the measurements against. I am talking about simple measurements to help with proportion of the finished parts. I am not asking for any disassembly etc.

I have taken many pictures at the shows but a show is not the time or place for pulling out the calipers and tape measure.

I am currently working on the front-end, wheels, pedestal etc and feel that I cant go any further until I double check against some full size measurements. A post or PM would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help!

Best regards
Ted

Ted.

Do you plan to build a 1/2 or a 5/8's scale? Can you tell me what the size of the 1/2 scale would be approx? Barrel diameter, wheel size etc? My daughter had turned into a steam freak, and Momma likes Bakers sooooo......

Are there casting available for scale Bakers? Who has them and how much?

Thanks
Joe

Joe you need to contact Bakermaker here on SmokStak. He has patterns for a 1/2 scale and 5/8 scale 23-90 Baker uniflow engine. Here's his website with photos of his 1/2 scale patterns and the beautiful engine he built: http://www.steamsmith.com/

And here's his info on the 5/8 patterns: http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showth...778#post250778

Hi Ted,

Any progress on your model? NTA is featuring Baker this year, so you will have "Baker Heaven...."

I'll see you next Month! June 25-28, 2015! "Young & old," big & little Bakers will be barking away.

Beth

A pretty sounding engine with a flashy silver smokebox & stack. Come visit and you just might want to trade that 65 for one!

Now that you mention it, I do seem to recall a silver looking smokebox opposite the 65 on the mill at NTA on Sunday of the soggy 50th.

I'll consider a trade only after that Port gets swapped for one. Much after.

The summer is shaping up to be pretty busy, hope a window opens for a trip to Fulton Co.

Sorry forgot to respond.
Beth thanks for asking and the invite. We have plenty of interest and ambition, time and money not so much. Hoping to gain some “critical mass” this summer. We plan on coming to the baker fest in June.
Best regards
Ted
