Default Waukesha find and restoration

Found a 1928 Waukesha XA266 Combine engine probably out of a IHC Deering no.8 Harvester Combine. Will be building a new skid to mount it on and would like to clean it up and paint it. Here are some pics of when I brought it home. W. Pendleton Esq. owned this and showed it for many years. It is a runner.

A couple other XAs 've turned up recently; if you haven't already, run the archives here, you'll find recent threads started by David Babcock and Matt S, with various XA comments. There've also been earlier XA threads.
A 1941 McCord tractor gasket catalog shows the #8 Prairie used the XA 1926-35, altho another catalog lists both the X and the XA.
That first catalog also shows the XA in something listed in McC-Drg combines as "Power Drive" (no model #) 1926-29.

NICE! I like both the Painted and Original versions. The vintage stand is real neat too.

Nice find. Just picked one up myself, although not as nice as yours. Have a good time with it. I sure would like to be able to hear it run as mine is a ways from running as of yet.

I just ran across your post, I picked up a Waukesha like yours last year at a auction in Missoula. It was also built in '28. I got a hold of the Waukesha Historical Society and bought a manual. It's not stuck and I hope to get it running this year. How is your project going? PK
