Photo Reid's new home

Moved my 25hp Reid into our old chicken coop. I think it looks pretty good in there, what do you think? Click image for larger version

Uhh, Tom............

What do the chickens think about it. I'm sure the engine's happy, though.

Thumbs up Re: Reid's new home

If the roof is sound, you are OK, BUT - you will have yo protect any exposed iron from humidity in the air. Cosmoline, a light coating of oil based grease - NOT the soap complex based grease used in todays autos, it will wash off. Lube any working parts, including the pistons and cylinders liberally, and turn the engine over once a month.. Good luck with your new project.

If it were mine I could not have put in the chicken coop.... If the chickens were gone for years I would have had it filled up with other stuff allready!!

Looks really good there!

Had to put some wheels under the Reid. I liked the looks of the skid but it was just to hard to pull out when I wanted to take it to shows.

This is it so far.

Next will be to find some steel wheels for it.

Don't like the runnin gears under it though .... but sure makes life easier.

Kudos to the guy doing the "Tuning"

Truthfully, I think it would look better at my place JK.

That think looks great. I have to stop looking at these Oil Field Engine post. You guys are a bad influence. Something tells me I'll have one if i find one I can afford.

Certainly sounds a lot quieter than mine!

I'm running on the Wico mag at the moment, but it sounds like the timing is retarded. The best I can get it is firing at TDC. What sort of advance are you running with?

Cheers Tom

I guess I need to get into mine and see what I can do about advancing it a little.

I'll keep watching your clip for inspiration of how a 25 can run!

Lookin' good. I bet that rig bounces a bit on the pneumatic tires, if the speed gets up

It may bounce a little but these tires are actually foam filled so that should help a lot.
