Default Lister CS 6hp generator found in its original home!

Im doing hurricane relief work down in the Bahamas and am always on the look out for Lister diesels, as they are pretty common over here. I found a gem today in its original habitat! Its a CS 6hp generator set, with the self starting Lister supplied generator end. It was installed new in the building it is in and was in regular use until about 20 years ago, when a bigger stable mate was moved in next door. Unfortunately it was partially submerged in the hurricane, but I am slowly getting it all un stuck and hopefully it will run again. It still has the original fuel tank attached and the tank even has its original decal! The shed it is in still has all the period switch gear and meters in it! Just a cool piece of machinery in every way!

The interesting part of its history was that it was bought new by the President of Zenith Radio Company for his island, and has been there ever since!

Not yet! I am hoping the owner will let it follow me home....
This is the exact lightplant I want for my Florida house!

I did see a couple of other Lister CS's in operation recently around the Abaco Islands. Both were very old, like the one pictured, but the owners still used them regularly and had complete faith in their reliability, even after 60+ years of use. I expect more to surface, as the power will not be restored for a year or more in this area, so a Lister will be a prize to have. Sure beats feeding 15 gallons of gas a day to a 3600rpm aircooled Home Depot Generator. (Gas is $5 a gallon here, when available).
