Default 1920's Hobart Bros Welder/Generator

I have this old 1920's welder/generator here in my barn. I have some guys taking scrap off my farm and they are interested in this. I know it will run, it's really old, I don't know if everything works, but it's really nice looking, as far as it's asthetics, the radiator has the old Hobart Bros, Ohio logo on it...I like it, but I'm selling the farm and I s'pose I should let it go...
Anyway, they are interested in it and I would like to know what it might be worth...anyone care to make a ballpark assumption? It's on rubber and in fair shape. Thanks...

If it runs, it should be worth a coupla hundred bucks. If it puts out juice too, it's worth more yet!!! "Scrap Monkeys" will try to get this stuff for peanuts. Don't give it away, whatever you do.

Before trying to start the machine, make Damn Sure the windings are still properly tied, and the varnish isn't rottin. If those aren't proper, you can easily throw windings into iron on those old monsters.

Is yours on a 4 wheel carriage?

You may well find intrest on www.hobartwelders.com as a couple fellows who live there collect old machines. If it was a Lincoln, JT McCracken would be at your door by morning.
It's definitely not a scrapper.

I have one of these old brutes with the raised letters in the radiator casting among all the other brutes I have collected which is a good many lol, it has a 6 banger red seal on her, I haven't even got to checking it out to see if it will put out voltage, it has all the side panels and in sound shape I wouldn't take less than a grand for mine.
