Default CAV pump sticky rack

Hi guys. On my Lister 6/1 the fuel rack is binding slightly causing me a bit of grief.Has anybody here had one apart to the point where you could clean it and see how bad it is bent? Is this a major task best left to the experts?? Any online exploded drawings?? Paul

Never had one apart, but I had an old "Sothern Cross" (Ozy) with a sticky rack that was a pain. All that turned out to be was a bit of gunge on the shaft where it went through the housing, just put some dieselene on it and worked it back and forth for a few minutes and it was fine. If I had had to pull it apart though I don't think it would be too complicated. It was a CAV style pump similar to what most Listers use.

My 6/1 was sticky when I got it. I just kept it coated with Liquid wrench and it eventually soaked through the crud. Now it free as can be.

Once again thanks guys.Had the pump off today and discovered that the rack was very free. If held sideways it will slip back and forth under its own weight as you flipped the pump over and over.It was actually the little forked part of the linkage that the rack attaches to.It as binding where it goes into the hole in the "L" shaped part.Shined up with oiled steel wool and then lubed and now the binding is gone and the governor is more responsive and smoking is at a minimum.Next thing I would like to do is observe the fuel spray pattern.Had trouble getting injector out and didnt want to force anything so I thought i would back off and get more info first. Paul.
