Default Short Frame - Long Frame

Is there any difference between short & long frame engines, besides the frame? Like year mfg. or rare?

The long frame engines were built earlier for the early machines with the open frames, model 92,model B ect. There were probably a few less early engines built than the later ones with the short base tanks,as far as rare,I think there are still quite a few of both types, but the long frame tanks are more fragile.

Exclamation Re: Short Frame - Long Frame

The long frame versions are indeed more desireable, as there aren't all that many left. They were prone to cracking.

Are you talking about 82s, 92's or twins? The short frame 82 is much more rare than the long frame. The 92's are all about the same, and the long frame twins are much more rare than the shorter frame twins. Good luck!!!
