Default 1910 Advance 26 HP Tandem Compound is now home

Bought this 1910 Advance Tandem Compound a little over a year ago, finally made the 200 plus mile trip home to my place. Had to use a strap from the winch to the flywheel to get it moving, the winch would not pull it until the rear wheels were on the ramps of the semi trailer. It took 4 1/2 hours to get it loaded this way. The pictures were taken when I got it home to unload it. For some reason, the pictures of it being loaded will not attach. Jim.

**As requested, here are 2 more. Looks like a project! Beth**

A few details on the engine: It is Number 11901, I bought it on the Richard Rorvig Estate Auction near Rothsay, MN in early Sept. 2008. Some parts are missing, but I do have the smokestack, connecting rod, sream chest covers, drawbar. Missing lubricator, injector, pump, gauge, whistle, pop valve, some hand hole plates, front & rear water tanks, and a lot of other small parts. Cylinders are stuck, along with valves & governor, it needs a h--- of a lot of work! Jim.

J Nasman,

Great photo's. Great pieces take time to breath life back into them. Thanks for rescuing the engine from a scrap dealer.

Once it's up and running you'll be pleased with all the hard work, dedication and the confidence you put into it. (speaking from experience)

Please keep us posted.

Jim,

Nice project. I'm sure you will be able to tap the resources of Stak to find & fix those missing items.

More pictures are always nice as we head into the winter season and need our steam project fix!

Beth

This engine belonged to my uncle, I remember it sitting at his farm for many years. I would love to see the progress as you work on it.

Congrats at getting it home, Jim. Had a good time chatting with you at Dalton this year, hope to make it to Butterfield next year.
