John, just saw the you tube video. You look like a proud daddy with your engine. Congratulations on a successful run.I've enjoyed your progress up though getting all the parts and having a working engine. A tip of the hat to you. Frank

Mr. Burns, just a quick question.

What is it that prompted you to start this project in the first place? I don't know much about the Reids, but did Reid ever make a 4hp size and none exist? Was this just to make a 1/2 scale model of the 8hp size? Again, just curious as to what kicked off the idea for such a project in the beginning? My apologies if this question has already been answered. Fantastic work and congratulations on seeing it through to the end!

I think there's one on display in Drumright OK in the yard of a museum.

Pretty sure the one at Drumright is an 8 HP.

All I know for sure is it's small. That and Doug Waggonner sure has tried to buy/trade for it.

Yes, the one at drumwright is an 8hp. Drooled over it a few times but it ain't going anywhere soon. Sure wish that place would take better care of it. I don't like most museams because they treat our treasures as scrap.

I almost got a nibble out of them when I offered to trade my running Evans on for it.

Ray, That would be a shame as the Evans would look just like the Reid in a few years.

I think I will be having the 4hp REID hauled to coolsprings! It won't be completely finished , but it will give you and Idea of how it should look! I hope you won't be disappointed!

John, It was a pleasure meeting you in person, and I am well impressed with your workmanship on the 4 HP Reid. It is a beautiful engine in person, and runs as good as it looks! Hope you enjoyed seeing your #6 prototype at the show. It too has run perfectly, just as it did, the first day I got it! Thanks for bringing your know how to the Stak and to the public. It is very much appreciated. I am saving my pennies!
