Diode is likely installed backwards, AND something else is wrong.

Diodes electrical arrow should point away from relay K11 contact.

Check that all wiring is as per schematic.

Len, diode was going the right way, I'm not sure what was going on the other day but today it is fine. I never put it back in and its doing everything it's supposed to do. I have a little more time in the morning to look at it , the diode seems ok when I check it with the multimeter. But the body is cracked. Maybe a little super glue on it to seal it up.

Talking Re: Another Onan JB

Not much time to work on the jb lately but was able to get a couple hours to clean up the mess in the bottom of the enclosure from the oil leak. Got everything ready fired up the steam Jenny and no water in the shop. Went into the pump room and the pump would not turn on. After going through all the electrics pressure switch it came down to the motor would not spin But it hummed. So I pulled it out and took it apart on the bench. Seems the bearing in the end of the shaft is seized. I pried out the rubber seal sprayed the bearing and worked the shaft until it started moving ,I packed grease in it and put it back together and reconnected everything. I got it working just long enough to clean the jb and had to leave. I did take the bearing number so I can replace it in my spare time.

Had a couple hours after work today to continue working on the jb. I got the 2 ends off the enclosure with a cut off wheel cutting off the nuts, got the fan housing off to find that the bottom is toast. I could fix it or use the one from the parts machine I'm getting. Time will tell.

That can be repaired. I had one just like yours and made it look like new.

I had 3 hours to work on the onan today so I thought I would start the fan housing. Chopped out the rot blasted the rust and put a coat of phosphorus acid.
