Got her home. Unloading went much easier than loading looks quite large for 4 hp, although the bore is small for the engines overall size.

I’m home for a couple weeks more. The previous owner thought I wanted it for yard art. He couldn’t believe it could be restored to running condition. It has a weld repair in the head, and most of the bolt and nut heads that were steel (not cast) are rusted away from salt air. The cast faired much better. I sprayed some penetrating oil at her and headed in for the night. I’ll post any progress as it happens.

Thanks guys, I’m sure questions will be incoming!

The guy I got the famous from has this also... Iím sure it was a boat engine but what make? It was washed up on the beach and itís rusted bad. I would say itís not restorable.

Looks like a Bruce Stewart & Company marine engine from Charlottetown, PEI. Might be able to salvage some brass off it.

Thanks for sharing,
Blair

Thanks guys, I've never heard of Bruce Stewart. I'll look them up or ask some of the old trout.
