Question 7 HP Sattely details wanted

Is there a registry or serial number/date listing for Sattely hit and miss engines? A friend has a 7 HP, S/N 2160- 375 RPM and he is trying to get a date for it. The engine has a Webster Tripolar mag and a device mounted on the mag side of the engine crankshaft that changes the engine speed by acting against the governor. The engine is mounted on a factory original horse drawn steel cart, and was used to saw wood at a local saw mill, here in NJ.

Any ideas on value? The engine is in excellent condition, all original with the exception of the fuel lines. It still has the factory pully on the working side. The engine runs great and started even at only 20 F outside! All original paint too. It had been barn kept all its life, never outdoors.

Thanks for your input,
Andrew

We need to see pics of that one. Is it a Racine Sattley or a Nelson Bros. engine? Two completely different beasts totally!

I have no way to post pictures at this time. How do you tell the difference between the 2? On this engine, there is a device that rides on the outside end of the crankshaft, magneto side of engine, that increases engine speed when pushed toward the flywheel
