Napoleon finished,

Ok we are going to start up and finaly we all can watch the end result of this wonderfull fabulous sleigh and restauration.

[B][/The Eternal Flame,B]

The Eternal flame is an item that dates back an long time ago until the old Persia.
It was also an huge symbole of the Empire style from Napoleon brought in from Egypt.

The eternal flame is still an very huge simbole until today like to see under the Arc the Triomphe at Paris from the Un Known Soldier.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_de_Triomphe

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zJogiqfKRU

And in North America to see on Arlington on the burial site of John F Kennedy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erXwatJlNLo

Now once the Napoleon Bonaparte Sleigh that we found also had such an flame on her frontbow section.

Today finaly she is having her flame back.........

For all the Smokstaker the first view of her bow section how it once was.

More to come.....

Napoleon Finished,

Here is an watch at her undersection.

All her golden blanket, ribbons and stars brought back how it once was.
And notice the Napoleon acanthus leave under the stagecoach seat.
We dit not put hangend fringe on the undersite of the stage coach seat other wise we coult not see the acanthus leave and the golden stars.
So we placed small green tassels in the colours of Napoleon under de stage couch seat.

We placed temporary an brass water tank in the seat until we find an original coal box.

The corners of Empire furniture had sometimes rosettes
These flowers rosettes are brought back on the undersection.

Those items where gone aswel.

They where old rosettes and infilled with real leave gold.
Every gold on Napoleon is real leave gold how Napoleon woult have wanted it...

Napoleon Finished,

Ok here are the last ones from today.

These kind of items are one of the most highest qualifide horse items of Europe.
The most fabulous horse sleighs in the world where made once in the old Holland.
This started in the golden age with the Amsterdammers.
Most of the old sleigh bulding in the old Holland was done with the French styles.
The Netherland was and is always very fascinited on the French and there beautiful style and fashion for hunderds and hunderds of years.

The chance is very big that this sleigh was buld in the old Holland in the Napoleon time when Louis became the first king of Holland.

Now the old Holland was always 2 famoust provinces of Holland called North and South Holland (NoordHolland/Westfriesian and ZuidHolland.

In these 2 provinces are the major old city’s of Holland laying called Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden and the Hague where once one of the most high qualified carriage bulders in the world where hidding.
Now in the middle of the 2 provinces there was once an increddible huge old lake hidding called the Haarlemmermeer/Haarlemmerlake.
The Haarlemmerlake was pumped dry in 1850 because it was an huge danger with storm for the big old city’s of Holland.

Quiet sure that these kind of sleighs once where to see in the old strong winters of Holland on the old Haarlemmerlake.
Slowely we are start to pull them back where they once where to see.

What America, Canada and the crown place Saskatchewan once was for the old prairy tractors in the World was the old Holland with the Haarlemmermeer once the horse sleigh spot in the world.......

Tomorrow going further with watch and talk about this Napoleon trone sleigh...

Napoleon Finished,

I went this morning in the antique feet stove collection to watch an search for an coal box for the Empire horse sleigh.
Yesterday had with Jaap discution about the coal box system of the Empire Napoleon style Sleigh .
Jaap told that the coal box had most purpose for the stagecoach driver that he woult kept warm knees and leggs during the long trips.
The airholes in the rear of the Empire sleigh woult give the stagecoach driver comfort aswel.

Now i do not have the real good size coal box found but realy found another very intresting item......
It was an Rosue....

Rosue was French old brass heating stove that was used as an heating coal box to keep the food on the table warm during diner in winter.

I am not sure that an Rosue dates back towards the Empire style but until we do not have found the right size coal box we wil keep it in the Empire horse sleigh.
On the other hand it woult have had dubble purpose.
These kind of sleighs where no farmer or normal people sleighs because this model was more used by nobilian or royal family’s
This sleigh was design for ice because it have ice breaks for long trips on the ice.
So an Rosue coult be have standing on board aswel to stop half way the trip and have warm meal or dinner next towards the sleigh.

Picture 3 an 4 the Rosue coal box stove for warm meal, dinner and yust warmt on board of the Empire horse sleigh.

Napoleon Finished,

Ok here are the last ones for today.

What is next.

Next Sunday we are going to move Napoleon towards the little horse sleigh museum to place her betwean Louis XV Versailles (Louis the 15) Horse Sleigh and Louis XVI (Louis the 16) Ramshead horse sleigh.
Finaly after many years we have the hole French line compleat.
This gos about the begin French horse sleigh time until the end Napoleon time.
Going to share this moment with all the Smokstakers when they all coming together to post some pictures about this next sunday.

Now the future plan is to place huge painting copy’s from the Rijksmuseum at Amsterdam and the Versalles from all kings and emperors out of the most early horse sleigh time from France behind every sleigh to date them back towards the time they where design, buld and made towards every kings and leaders of France.
This wil be large master painting copy’s of 2 meter/ around 7 feet high.
Wil try to post some images already soon of how they are going to look.
The Napoleon wil be have 2 kings behind her Napoleon Bonaparte and Louis Napoleon.

This wil also going to happen with the Holland line.
Maby an huge painting picture from the golden bend in Amsterdam during the golden age.

Jaap is also having some more restauration pictures of Napoleon.
When there are some intresting i wil post them here aswel.

Jaap has bought the little Child Sjeesarr but we still have to look and study that it wil fit in our collection.

The end of this year we are going further with the restauration of the realy major horse sleigh restauration project the golden Amsterdammer sleigh from the golden age (one of the most oldest horse sleighs in the world)

Now we have all these sleighs in our hands we wil start to focus us on the 2 most difficult horse sleighs to find in the world.
And that woult be some animals sleighs like an Deere, Polarbear or Krawbird.
The search wil start now already...

Keep you all up to date and we wil back here next sunday with the re united of the French horse sleigh line.
.

Thanks for the intrest.....

The French horse sleigh line up,

Thanks Al,

Glad you still like our threads....
Realy wish we coult talk one day with each others personal.

Chris

Ok an very intresting chapter is coming up now in the fabulous sleigh model an restauration.

Today there was an very special day because finaly we can place the French line of Horse Sleighs in each other.
We want to share this moment with all the Smokstakers because i do not know another museum or private horse sleigh collector in the World that can do this.
The last Empire Sleigh was an ticket from the lotery.
An Louis XVI (16) ramshead sleigh is rare but there are an coople more in existance but an Versailles Paris sleigh and an Empire Napoleon sleigh is not to find anymore.
Can you all imagen how happy we where with the Napoleon sleigh.

We had already the Versalles sleigh.
But the big question is how we can date all these sleighs.
The Versailles sleigh is having the Rococo style in her undersection and going along the gliders with all the curled flowers ornamentation and the hooked bracket system (1730-1760).
After 1760 the Neoclassime came up.
Neoclassime are straight lines with smaller decoration to see even on the buldings in North America like the white house and on board of the Titanic.
During the Louis the 16 time the French model horse sleighs had an Ramshead, dolphin or curled leave ornamentation.
And the empire style was straight lines with an Empire vase with flame on the front section.

When Peter the Great from Russia came over towards Europe then he went towards the Netherlands and France to study the shipbuld and the buldings overhere.
This was way before Carl Faberge the Russian Imperial Egg buld maker.
After Peter the great study the palaces and bulding of Europe like the Versailles then he went back to buld the Hermitage for the Zsars of Russia.
After that the Russians went many times back to copy our designs
Coming back towards Carl Faberge his style.
If you study the old horse sleighs from the Versalles and the old Holland that where once made way before Faberge made his eggs then i know where he took his design from looking at the French model horse sleighs from the Versailles and the old Holland.......

Take an look at the next video and the next pictures that are going to be showed up here !.

Horse sleigh art from the most high quality out of the old Europe...

Hi Chris,
The Napoleon sleigh has turned out beautifully! Also, the pictures of your sleigh exhibit are very nice. You have put a terrific collection together in a very short time, and have it set up well.
Congratulations!

Thanks Al and Bob,

Wel 5 years ago there was an world going open for me that i came to know that the old Holland was once the nr. 1 horse sleigh country in the World.

I only knew about the tikkers but never knew about all the exotical ones.
I have read very old reports that there where horse sleigh contest in 1929 that they left with 3 horse sleighs early in the morning on the west of the Zuidersea (what now know as the Ijselmeer) they became in an huge snowstorm and went lost for hours.
On the end of the day they still reached the other side of the Zuidersea.
There was so much exiting that they all made it that they let the church bells ring from all the churches in town.

Also dit another huge discovery that there is difference betwean Ice horse Sleighs and Snow Horse Sleighs.
The Ice Snow sleighs have ice breakes on there rear this is not with the snow models.
Now most of the sleighs that we found are Ice sleighs but there is one that is an Snow Sleigh.
This horse sleigh is having an high feetplank for the moles holes that they woult not damage the feet plank where the stagecoach driver sits...

Doing this alone in Holland and it seems to me that the horse people gladly sleeping not knowing what we find everytime.
This is also why i do not post this in Europe.

The wrekages there are the biggest treasures in hidding and know there are some more out there somewhere hidding on an old shet or attick.
Wil keep hunting for them.
We never found one on the internet for sale exept the first Pony sleigh 5 years ago.
So it is difficult search for them but know they are still out there somewhere.

I went back this evening and took pictures of all the bow statues of the French line.

Picture 2 the Louis XVI ramshead.

Picture 3 the Louis XV Seachild mermaid hold the star globe child.

Picture 4 the Empire Napoleon eternal flame vase.

Watch and enjoy....

Next the images that we are going to place behind the French line in the future to date them towards there own time they where design and made.

Thanks Mike that is very kind....

I wil try to pull the most beautiful ones out everytime an bring them all towards Smokstak so that you all can see how they look and how the restauration ends.

Like i told you on Email the last developments.
At the moment we are focused on an super rare and ancient leather goat harnas sleigh bell set.
I have seen it already and became very exited when i saw it because there is an difference betwean an horse/pony leather horsesleigh bell set towards an goatsleigh bell set.
The first thing is that the set is extreamly smal but the most exiting thing is that it does not have the 2 blumes on both sides of the bells on top.
The thing with goats is that the goat wil try to eat the plumes....
So this is why sleigh goat harnas set never had plumes on top of the goat.

Sure that this set is on his way towards Smokstak to have an look.

The Paintings behind the French horse sleigh line up,

I told every body that the future is of the French line horse sleighs to place behind every model sleigh an French king or leader to date the sleigh towards there own time.

These wil be huge copy paintings from the Napoleon room in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Versailles in Paris.
An year ago i realy was in the Napoleon room in Amsterdam and notice the original pistol with hand pistols from Napoleon his carriage that he lost during the battle at Waterloo.

There where also 2 huge master paintings from Napoleon Bonaparte and Louis Napoleon the first king of Holland.

Now it woult be nice to have two execly the same copy’s from both paintings with wooden picture frames behind the Empire Napoleon sleigh.

This gos also for the other 2 sleighs the Versailles Louis the 15 sleigh and the Louis the 16 Ramshead sleigh.
I can place Louis the 15 behind the Versalles sleigh but i woult place Marie Antoinette behind the Louis the 16 sleigh because Marie Antoinette was the one that once arranged the old horse sleigh games arround the Versalles and she was the woman of Louis the 16.

Here i have the pictures of all of these master paintings from the Rijksmuseum at Amsterdam and the Versalles at Paris.
Not far from us there is an company that can make these images in realy huge same copy sizes (2 meter/7 feet high).
It woult be nices to have all these paintings behind every French model sleigh where they are belong to in the time they where design buld and made.

And it woult be nice to use these painting in the future to show the French line on an exhibition.

I think it is quite amazing that those sleighs have been kept in storage for so long, and the restorations are FABULOUS! You will be needing more ponies soon
