Default Onan 12.5 JC Should I or shouldn't I?

This set was listed on the Craigslist section here last month 8-22. I offered the guy $1,000.00 which is half of the ad price. I never heard back from him till today. He countered with $1,200.00 saying his wife wants it gone. The first photo is from the ad showing the installation but that is no longer reality. He moved and the generator is just sitting in his garage - second photo. He did not take the Garretson regulator so he can't demonstrate it running or pulling a load. I would probably buy the set as is since I've never run gaseous fuel. He bought it six years ago in Pittsburgh from US Steel I believe he said and it has always been maintained. Is the transfer switch a desirable one? I would run it on propane. What does anyone think?
