Default Schoenner at Auction

I attended an Auction last evening to Look at/Bid on/bring home this very early Schoenner vertical engine. I believe that this is an early example of the 160 with the wood base and round 3 tab cast iron mounting plate. My guess is around 1900 but may be earlier.

The engine is in very nice condition, with nice patina, but of course it is not perfect. As you can see, the engine has been modified with the addition of a small electric heating element in the fire box, which is very nicely done and based on the cord and plug was done many decades ago. it is also missing the original/correct filler plug on the top of the boiler (If anyone has one of these I would like to see close up pictures of the filler components so I can lathe one)

I would be most interested in any additional information on this engine, or any literature or catalog cuts that show this engine with the round base.

I will post a few more pictures at a later date. these ones are from the auction catalog.
