Default Goulds Pumps

Hello. I am cleaning out my grandfather's home and have come across a Goulds pump which is extremely large and nearly impossible to move. Can anyone provide information on what it was used for and if it has any value. I have pictures and serial numbers. They are as follows:
Style: 136061
Fig: 1813
Size: P60EA
Patent No. : 1800735

Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

I believe it is just an everyday water pump of the era . Clearly it was electric motor driven. Perhaps a engine collector could use the pump at their display , belted to a hit and miss at the next engine show.

Thumbs up Re: Goulds Pumps

It supplied water from a well in your grandfathers home. If still not being used (ciity water hook up or a deep well installed), it can be removed and the pipe to the well capped. If the home is very rural, and water is still in the well, some one may want to use it to water the grass! These pumps typically were used on shallow wells - less than 30 feet deep. This is typically 'ground water', and now days is not a good source for clean water. Todays 'deep' submersable well pumps are 60 feet or deeper in nature.

A Goulds Pyramid was a good pump. Depending on size, they typically can go for anywheres from 25 to the 100s of dollars, depending on internal condition. Is that motor AC (house power) or DC? voltage? A label on the motor will tell. Although not new,, those pumps are still being used today. If someone were to purchase it from you, if it needed parts, they probably still could be found. If you wish to sell it, try putting an ad here on the Stak! Many collectors would like to have one to display. You might even get some one to disconnect and remove it for you!

Welcome to the Stak, and thanks for posting!
