Been picking up plastic gas cans and throwing them in pile for past few years. Many 6 gal cans didn't have caps and <1 gallon ones did. Went out and swapped caps around, made some seals, and cleaned insides of cans. Now I have four more 5-6 gallon cans that are air-tight. That's another ~20 gallons of gas I can store for the gens.

Previously I had three cans , ~15 gal not counting the 3 cars with 20 gal gas tanks.

Around here winter is when we would need the gen. I can gas up the cans in early winter (no ethanol time of year here), then dump the gas in the cars come spring.

If you want to recycle old gasoline or diesel around here you have to deliver it to the recycling depot in approved fuel containers not just any cans or drums. so if you don't have cans you have to buy them just to get rid of the old fuel. When I picked up the MDJC a couple of months ago the guy gave me 5 new 5 gal cans of 2 yr old marked diesel that he was going to take down to the recycling , my cummins didn't care. Cheers Dan

It has been awhie since I posted to this thread, but tonight I took a minute to walk into my garage to place a nice blanket over the top of the JC to keep it warm and protected from catching a cold as seen in the attached picture.

Do some careful planning and evaluate whether one more shelf is enough if you put them in the same shed they may multiply, mine always do. Cheers Dan
