Default Unknown Generator?

I picked up this generator in a barn clean out I don't know what make it is. Its powered by a 4 cyl Waukesha engine model FC 140a its going to the junkyard but thought I would show it here incase anyone wants any parts off of it. If so just let me know what you want. 203 393 2835 Todd.

Yes, exactly what he said. Definitely do whatever it takes to NOT let that get ruined!

That'll most likely be '40's or '50's. They aren't making any more of them, and never will. We have to save whatever is left.

Finding a quality 10 kw set new is unlikely, and certainly not even close to the quality of this one.

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. Sure wish I was close enough to get it.

I made a link to this thread in the Kohler section. Hopefully someone can act in time to save it.

I agree with you I am happy to work with anyone that is interested in it just let me know. The engine tag says 1200 rpm. It sure is a heavy generator .

You know, now that I think about it, there was a fellow with a 1-71 GM Diesel that was looking for an old 10 kw, 1200 rpm generator to drive with it. Seeing as how this one is missing some parts already, maybe this would be a good candidate for him. So long as he saves all of the parts that he doesn't use.

The trouble is, I don't recall who it was...

I'll dig around and see if I can find out.

Don't know anything about generators so can't comment on its restorability, but can say the little FC was (no, is) a highly popular engine used in a large (vast?) array of tractors and Ag eqpmt, light trucks incl some mid 30s IH, and all kinds of comm'l/indt'l uses...
If no takers for the whole unit, or for the gen itself, you should have no trouble finding people interested (understatement) in the FC...

I believe K-tron has a 1-71 GM/Detroit that is not coupled up to anything.

Yes, it was I who was looking for a 10kw 1200rpm generator. Todd I am not sure when I will be coming up your way. If you can post up a picture of the generator tag I would appreciate it. Some of those old Kohler generator heads looked to be 10kw, but were actually rated at 4kw. I think I have your address still on my computer. I picked up that Howard from you years ago. I would probably be interested in the whole thing. It might save you a trip to the evil scrap man. I will be on contact with you shortly.

Chris
