Default Teledyne Mil Surplus Generator, 4A032-4

Anybody know of a source for a manual for this generator? I got two that have sat for years, need carb cleaning etc.
Best would be a downloadable PDF or similar file, but any leads would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Andy

Right, 2 3kw units, one made 1989, one not sure.
Wild guess is that the fuel pump may not be pumping- it would make sense to kind of know how it's put together before removing random shrouds and such

I have found that a fuel pump kit for the fuel pump used on Kohler engines will repair most of the fuel pumps used on small engines. The kit is no longer available in the Kohler parts network but you can find one at: www.outdoordistributors.com

Any idea as to the kit number? the new gas (with Ethanol) seems to be eating the diaphragms. I have a couple to rebuild.

As I said in my post of 18 months ago, THE KIT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE from Kohler. I have heard but I have NO personal knowledge that in the ONAN parts system there is a kit available. Try P/N 149-0526. That said, ALL of the small square mechanical pumps are the same except for the pump arm. You can disassemble the pump. Push down on the diaphragm, turn 90 degrees and remove the diaphragm. Then install the diaphragm in the pump you need to be in working order. The pump tops that contain the hose connections and check valves will interchange. Complete pumps are available for a variety of engines mainly the K, M and KT series Kohlers. The pump arm differ between the K and KT series Kohlers. On the M series the pump arms are different between the single cylinder and twin cylinder engines.
The is a down loadable PDF Manuel for the MEP-16 generators but it mostly is towards the generator section. I have set-up a MEP-16/4A032 engine for LP fuel. Search the Mobile Power sub-form for the topic MEP-16 ? and pix.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a while and am ready to post. I've found so much information that is very much appreciated. I would like a PDF of the instruction manual for the 4A032 if it is still available. I just bought a 4A032 generator and am very excited about bringing it home. I haven't heard it run but I've been assured that it does. Thanks in advance for the PDF and also to the many posters that that have posted a lot of info.

Default Teledyne Mil Surplus Generator, 4A032-4

Hi Miltruck
I joined steelsoldiers a few days ago, but I couldn't locate the pdf file of which you speak.
What I need is a 120V (3,5,or10 KW) voltage regulator---or schematic--or an old one to
dis-assemble so I can trace out the circuit.--mine wants to put out 160V @ 3600rpm--
It did start regulating one time in the middle of a 15min run. so it must be a bad connection , or intermittent part.--Many thanks ahead..Jerry--(Need the manuals too)

Also --these guys have fuel pumps for $10.00

http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/....cfm?killnav=1

I found the models with the Airtex brand pumps cannot remove the diaphragm without
pulling pump & removing the lever--My valves were Corroded , so I just changed the top, diaphragm looked good--squawks like a duck now!!---Jerry

Oh, please do, I'm afraid I may have to go into mine..

wassbiplane@tds.net---Thanks in advance

p.s. If you have an extra voltage regulator, I'd like to borrow one, mine has worked correctly once or twice but most of the time- not.I can measure the voltages & component values on a good one & compare to fix my old one.

I fixed my fuel pump w/o removing from motor---remove 4 screws--if you find a fair amount of corrosion-(aluminum carbonate & hydroxide, ) the valves are probably stuck/blocked---soak in strong vinegar, or weak phosphoric acid--(metal-prep in the painters trade) brush the diaphragm with the solution---after cleaning soak in baking soda solution to neutralize,
then oil lightly before assembly...(the valve springs are very delicate.)

a previous post using the Koehler kit said to turn diapragm 1/4 turn & remove
my pump was an "Airtex" and the bottom of the stem on the diaphragm could
not be removes w/o removing whole pump from engine. Thanks, Jerry

I have found that fuel pump kits are available from then-now.com. I ordered 4 the other day. Two were for two TFD Wisconsin that are on a New Holland 166 self-propelled baler I am working on for a guy who wants to return it to operation to show at antique tractor and engine shows. The guy who owns the New Holland baler is a big Allis-Chalmers collector. The other two kits are for me. The price of the kits are $23.00 plus shipping. These kit include new check valve. There are two types of kits. One is for pumps with check valve that are individual parts. The other type has the unitized check valves.
