Default Waggon wheel tyring plate

Hello to everyone on this great site, and I hope the new year has so far been good to you! I, actually we (my wife and I), have moved away from the bush to east of Rockhampton, for what everyone else calls retirement. So far there has been no slowing down though. I have, in a shed that I have bought a pal who restores horse drawn vehicles. We are looking to buy, what he calls a tyring plate. I know various Heritage villages have them at their blacksmiths, or wheelwrighting area. Large stations many years ago also had them, but with the "scrappy"getting around, they seem to have disappeared. If anyone knows of a tyring plate for sale could they please give me a reply? I can give my mobile, but I do not know if this site accepts it!? Thanks for the replies in advance, and kind regards Phil Dowe.

If you cannot find an old one why not think of making a new one out of a bit of plate, you can get it oxy cut with any holes you specify etc .
Do a cad drawing and a shop can cut it with electric eye.
I think the old plates where rather thick maybe too thick for laser cutting but check this also.

As there has been no response to my offer I can only assume that either the original plea was a ''Thought Bubble'' and a wast of time. However I am inclined to be of the opinion that the poster may indeed be a victim the the flooding in Queensland and communications may be down. If this is the case then I am in sympathy with his plight .....I hope all is well with him.

Hello again, and thank you for your replies. I am sorry to offend anyone, but I do not sit on this thing day in and day out. We may be “retired”,but I still do a lot of work, and I come home at night pretty tired. Anyway enough of that. My mobile number is 0418 658 597,and I can be contacted there, pretty well most of the time. My phone rings four times only, and then it goes to messages, for some reason! Thanks again Phil.

I take it then that you have no further interest in the item that you requested information on.

That was nice that you have alerted to the fact one is coming up at an auction. Only slight issue I can see is the distance not just across Australia but then head north and few thousand kilometers. Phil might be researching logistics or as he has let us know he doesn't go online very much

Heading north and you will end up in the Kimberly....................any way he is not interested due the distance it would seem.
