Default What engine is it?

This photo was posted somewhere a year or two ago. Does anyone know what it is? You can almost read the name plate, but not quite!

I have cropped the image just to show the engine, but it is actually on a portable saw bench.

I feel a bit silly now for not recognising it. It is a Carter, made in Unley, South Australia, and a very similar photo was in my files all along!

Made from pre-1914 to possibly late 20's. Some examples, including a horizontal, still exist.

Hi Eric,

I didn't know what it was, but the manufacturing style suggested an Australian made engine. So no surprises.

Regards,
Wayne
